The Independent Climbing Wall Collective (ICWC) is a network of independently-owned climbing gyms working together to support each other and the climbing community. This guide explains how Clava integrates with ICWC to help your climbing facility benefit from collective membership.

What is the Independent Climbing Wall Collective?

The ICWC (independentclimbing.org) brings together independent climbing walls to share resources, knowledge, and support.

Gym Owner Benefits:

  • Bulk purchasing power with suppliers for ICWC e.g. Rental shoes

  • Access to annual surveys and survey results, allowing comparison to industry collective results

  • Access to ICWC industry collective KPI statistics allowing comparison ofy our gym to the ICWC average

Gym Member Benefits:

  • Participating Gym Members get a free credit once a month to access participating ICWC gyms in the network

Setting Up the Integration

Step 1: Verify ICWC Membership

Ensure your climbing facility is an active member of the Independent Climbing Wall Collective. Visit independentclimbing.org for membership information.

Step 2: Enable ICWC Integration in Clava

Navigation: Settings > Integrations > Service

  1. Toggle the ICWC option to Enable

  2. Click Reveal to display the API Key

  3. Copy and Paste the API Key and Account ID to a secure document for future reference

  4. Save

Check in the User as per standard operational methods.
