Clava and Receipt printers

This guide is an informational help piece to assist you with purchasing a printer to connect to Clava

Recommended reading before you purchase your new shiny printer:

Receipt printer requirements:

Our system works with receipt printers that connect via USB or serial (COM port) connections. The key thing is making sure your printer is compatible with standard Windows printing drivers and appears in your Windows Settings β†’ Printers & Scanners.

We support Receipt Printers with the following Receipt paper widths:

  • 80mm (standard)

  • 72mm

  • 58mm (compact)

Clava Connect

If you're on Windows, you'll need our Clava Connect software to bridge the connection between your browser and the printer, since Chrome can't access USB printers directly. Mac users don't need any extra software - printing works natively in Chrome and Safari.

For printers using serial connections, we support the standard 9600 baud rate, though you might need to adjust this based on your specific printer model.

Current tested brands that work with Clava:

  • Epson

  • Rongata

Current tested brands that do not work with Clava:

  • Star Micronics
