Age Restriction for Account Registrations

Updated today

We understand that not all operators wish to allow juniors to create independent accounts. To address this, we've implemented a feature that enables you to set a minimum age for account creation.

As an operator, you have full control over the minimum age required for new accounts. If this option is disabled, registration will remain open to individuals of any age.

How to Enable This Feature:

  1. Navigate to Settings / Age Groups within your Clava account: https://app.clava.co.uk/settings/age-groups

  2. Enable the "Minimum Registration Age" option and enter your desired minimum age.

What Happens if a User Doesn't Meet the Age Requirement?

Anyone attempting to sign up who does not meet the specified minimum age will see the following message:

Age Verification Required

We notice you're under 16. According to our terms and conditions, you'll need to be added to your legal parent's or guardian's account.

Why is this important?

  • To ensure your legal parent or guardian has given consent for you to participate

  • To comply with youth protection regulations

  • To provide appropriate support and features

Next Steps:

  1. Ask a parent/guardian to create an account

  2. They will then need to add you as a family member

  3. They will then complete any/all waivers

  4. Then you can start climbing with us! explaining why along with next steps on how to go about creating an account.
