Add a subscription or pack to a customer's account for free

This guide explains how to give free items in Clava for passes, packs, and subscriptions.

There are two primary ways to navigate giving Free Passes, Packs, Subscriptions and Classes.

Custom Discounting

navigation: Products > Discounts > Create new discount

The example and guide section is for creating a custom unique discount of 100% for a single customer.

  1. Navigate to “create new discount” and give the discount a unique name

  2. Assign a discount code if required.

  3. Define the discount % as 100%

  4. Define the Global usage limit

  5. Define the Usage per customer limit

  6. Assign the targeted item so the customer will be able to get a 100% discount on.

    1. Leaving this unlimited will give them free everything!

    2. apply to specific items, and class type for a free class entry

    3. select a product to define which product you are giving Free access to

  7. Use the customers full email address in Email Restrictions to custom this discount to one customer only.

  8. A validity period if you want to give them a time window to take advantage of the discount.

Single Free Discount in POS

navigation: Customer > New Sale > Select the product you wish to discount

The example and guide section is for creating a custom unique discount of 100% for a single customer in POS for multiple or singular items.

Note: If you have the Global setting “Renewals happen on a specific day in the month” and **** therefore proration is turned on, you cannot create a 100% discount on a reoccurring membership. Use the Custom Discounting as described above.

  1. Navigate to the customer and select the items they wish to purchase with 100% discount

  2. Select the green three dots icon in the top right

  3. Select “Apply discount”

  4. Input the custom discount you wish to apply (100% in the example)

  5. The custom discount will be applied as a line item under the Subtotal at the bottom of the cart.

  6. Process the transaction with the now visible “Free” button.

The transaction will be displayed in the customers orders, transaction history and in your reporting stack.
