Your Guide to Creating Courses on Clava

This article provides a step-by-step guide on building courses using Clava, a platform designed for creating multi-week learning journeys.

What Makes Clava Courses Different?

  • Structured Courses: Unlike traditional classes, Clava courses are multi-week programs with a defined start and end date, encouraging participants to commit to the entire experience.

  • Member-Centric: Members typically book the entire course at once, streamlining the registration process.

Benefits of Using Clava Courses:

  • Flexible Access: Offer the course as a complete package or allow individual class bookings.

Creating Your First Course on Clava

  1. To create a course: Navigate to "Course" > "Create Course +"

  2. Fill in the Course Details:

    • Course Name: Give your course a clear and descriptive title.

    • Description: Craft a compelling description that outlines the course content.

    • Start & End Dates: Define the timeframe for the course.

    • Class Duration: Set the length of each class session.

    • Waitlist: Enable a waitlist if the course fills up, allowing potential members to join as spots open.

    • Course Schedule: Click "Add Day & Time" to specify the days and times for each class session.

      • Note: The system will automatically calculate the number of sessions based on your start and end dates.

      • Date forward enrollment Allows clients to sign up after the start of the course. They're signed up for every class from that point forward.

        • Note: The cost of the course that customers pay will automatically be pro-rated based on the number of remaining sessions.

    • Status: Set the course status to "Active" to make it visible to potential members.

    • Instructor(s): Assign qualified instructors to lead the course.

    • Category (Optional): Categorise your course for better organisation (e.g., CrossFit101, Yoga Mindfulness etc.).

    • Class Type: Choose the appropriate class type from available options.

  4. Payment Settings:

    • Free or Paid: Choose whether the course is free or requires a fee.

    • Course Price: If paid, set the total price for the entire course.
