This guide will walk you through creating a course on Clava, allowing you to deliver a series of connected classes to your customers.

Before You Begin:

  • Ensure you have already set up instructors, studios, class types, and (optionally) categories within Clava.

Creating Your Course:

  1. Navigate to Courses: Click on "Courses" and then "Create new +" button.

  2. Details & Schedule:

    • Enter a clear and descriptive Course Name. (This is what customers will see when registering.)

    • Add a Description of your course if required

    • Set a Start Date and End Date for your course, defining the overall duration. (Courses typically last a few months.)

    • Choose your Class Duration in minutes. This determines the length of each individual class within the course.

    • Course Schedule: This is where you define the recurring schedule of classes within the course.

      • Click "Add Day & Time" to set specific days and times for your classes. You can add multiple days/times within the same course.

      • Select "Date Forward Enrolment" (optional): This allows customers to enrol even after the course starts. They will automatically be enrolled in all remaining classes.

  3. Publish & Settings:

    • Status: Choose "Active" to make your course live once submitted, or "Draft" to save it for later editing.

    • Instructor: Select the instructor/s who will be leading the course.

    • Category: (Optional) Assign a relevant category for your course (if you've already set them up).

    • Class Type: Choose the appropriate class type from the existing options. If it's not there, select "New" and create it.

    • Studio & Location: Select the studio where the classes will be held (and its location). You can also create a new studio if needed.

    • Course Capacity: Set the maximum number of participants allowed in your course.

    • Hidden Course: Check this box if you want the course to be accessible only by invite and not displayed publicly in your Service store.

    • Age Restrictions: Select the appropriate age restriction for the course (if applicable). You can also create a new age restriction category if needed.

  1. Payment Settings:

    • Choose whether the course is Paid or Free.

    • If paid, enter the total Price for the entire course.

    • Enable Sell Online: Check this box if you want customers to purchase the course online.

  2. Finalise Your Course:

    • Preview: This allows you to review all the key details of your course before publishing.

    • Save as Draft: Save your course settings for later editing if needed.

    • Create: Click this button to finalise and publish your course. Clava will automatically set up all the individual class sessions within the course schedule.

Additional Notes:

  • When setting the overall course price, Clava automatically calculates a per-session price. This can be helpful if you want to allow someone to enrol in individual classes within the course as a drop-in.

  • Remember to save your work throughout the process.
