How can I restrict class (booking) by age?

Set up age groups

First set up your age groups by navigating to Settings > Age Groups (under Miscellaneous)

Enable age groups by clicking the toggle

Add your first age group by clicking on Create New +

When creating a class - visit the Schedule and click on the button Create new +

Fill out the details and and set the minimum and maximum age range (if you require just one age say age 12, then set the min to 12 and the max to 13), if you leave the max age field blank there will be no maximum age applied. E.g 18+

Click Save

Continue to add age groups as required.

Note: if you do not create any age groups, the default age setting for booking anything through Clava is 18+.

Restrict a class (booking) by age

With age groups set-up you can now restrict a class by age group. The same applies for courses and even membership pricing options. For more about that check out the article Restricting memberships by age group.

When creating (or editing an existing class) there is the option:

Age groups restriction
Here you can select one or more age group restrictions and apply them to the class.

Once the class is created, in the schedule view, a small icon of a person with a lock indicates this class has age restrictions, hovering over or tapping on the icon will confirm there is a restriction in place.

Booking into an age restricted class

To book into an age restricted class, the member will need to have an active membership that allows them booking into the relevant age restricted class.
By default any membership that does not have a pricing option specifically covering any age group restriction, is 18+.
